Tools for Tough Conversations is a three-part continuing education series for past conflict resolution training participants. The series offers practical tips on applying conflict de-escalation and communication skills at home, at work, and in the community.
Topics include: preparing for stress and responding to conflict; listening fully and listening to learn; exploring biases and identifying opportunities for inclusion; practicing speaking up when it matters most; finding common ground in times of difference; and responding with poise in moments of surprise.
Each supportive learning session led by trained mediators and facilitators refreshes participants on key conflict awareness and assertiveness skills and provides ample practice time through scenarios, worksheets, and group learning activities.
This training is held at Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center at 206 Prospect Street, Bellingham, WA 98225.
